Bee and Rumer came to Happy Cats as kittens, named after Spanish Princesses Christina & Louisa. They are two beautiful tortoiseshell girls with bright copper eyes. We quickly realized they had limited eyesight. After some testing, we determined that Christina could see more than Louisa, able to follow a hand and a toy. They were both able to play with a laser dot, so could see that bright point of light.
They were adopted about a year ago and renamed Bee and Rumer. They were recently brought back through no fault of their own but because their adopter is now living with someone with allergies.
They are very sweet girls, always ready to come to the door to meet you, once they get to know you. They both appreciate being able to rub on you themselves, as hands can be especially unpredictable to these girls. Offering them a finger that you’ve licked is a good way for them to locate you and get to know your scent. Once they know where you are, they’re ready for head bonks and chin chucks and purrs.
They’re both very playful, though of course Bee tends to hog the toy as she can see it more. If you have a toy that makes noise, like a mylar sparkler, they both love to chase and pounce on it. They both love their Turbo Track, as they can hear it while they play.
We’re guessing they will blossom into very wonderful companions if they are given a home without a lot of changes or chaos. They really want to be with their people but just need to know they’re safe where they live so they can explore at their own pace.
