When Happy Cats opened, he was our first intake. He’s obviously part Maine Coon, with his size and beautiful coat. The notch in his ear shows he’s had his challenges. During our grand opening, he was our second adoption.
Bear now is the only animal for June and Steve, getting all the attention he wants daily and from visits with their kids and grandkids. June had a cat for 21 years and said she never thought she could love another cat like that. But Bear won her heart from the moment he got into her lap at Happy Cats.
They live in the foothills, with coyotes who sing in the evening and fox who play in their yard. Bear gets very still when he sees the fox or hears the coyotes. His ears go flat and he backs slowly away to hide downstairs. June tells him not to worry. He’s found his safe spot for life.
